Handmade pendant and chain. The blooming lotus design is made using a traditional handcarved stamp technique. The pendant is hollow and opens on one end, so you can put your love notes, mantras, intentions, prayers, cherished sayings inside and carry them close to your heart. Both pendant and chain are 2 micron 18kt gold plated sterling silver. In an effort to be as sustainable as possible, the piece is made from recycled gold and silver.

This design can also be made to order in solid yellow, rose or white gold. Please Contact us here if you would like to place an order.

Giving Back

Our jewellery is made with only recycled gold and silver and ethically-sourced gemstones. The manufacturer we work with runs 50% of its operations with solar power and is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). Gamar pieces are purposefully designed with how to give back in mind. Sometimes environmental or social projects we personally already know inform our creations; sometimes we actively seek out meaningful projects that align with the intentions behind our different designs; sometimes we run limited time specific sales campaigns to contribute to specific causes. Please refer to the Giving Back page to learn more about the projects we help support thanks to your purchases, as well as to learn more about how we aim to be as sustainable as possible in the creation of our pieces.

Jewellery Care

To ensure Gamar Jewellery keepsakes continue to accompany you during your life's journey and beyond, we encourage you to follow our care guidelines and treat them with love. As natural oils in our skin, chemicals, perfumes, ingredients in our skincare products, as well as sand, salt and sun can all impact a gold-plated finish over time, we recommend that you remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, applying personal care products and doing household cleaning. Please refer to our Jewellery Care & Size Guide for more details on how to properly care for your jewels.

Meaning

The Lotus is considered a sacred plant in cultures around the world and throughout history, serving as a universal symbol of resilience, strength, rebirth and rising above adversity. Dating back to the Ice Age, the lotus is amongst the oldest floral species on the planet (surviving even when most other plant species became extinct). Despite the apparent delicate nature of the flowers, they are an incredibly durable species, able to withstand and renew even under the harshest of challenges. Uniquely cyclical in nature, lotus flowers emerge from the muddy waters they grow in each morning, blooming anew with the rising sun and closing in the evening with the setting sun, when they re-submerge themselves back under the water for the night, only to rise up and be reborn again the next morning. Buddhists believe the lotus to represent the connection between individual and universal soul, while Hindus see the lotus as symbolising enlightenment and the purity of heart and mind.
